Samburu university student Association is guided by reason, courtesy, and genuine search of all virtues to live in comradeship, peace and to develop wholesome collaboration with other student bodies, persons, institutions and all who believe in the ideals of justice, equality and truth, and is proud of the diversity of backgrounds and cultures of members, united by a common purpose and aspirations, GUIDED by the national values and principles of governance, principles of leadership and integrity and general principles of elections as spelt out in Articles 10,81 and Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010,
About The Association
Samburu university student Association was formed in the year 2009 by a group of comrades with an aim of unifying all samburu university and college students across samburu county. And is proud of the diversity of backgrounds and cultures of members, united by a common purpose and guided by reason, courtesy, and genuine search of all virtues to live in comradeship, peace and to develop wholesome collaboration with other student bodies, persons, institutions and all who believe in the ideals of justice, equality and truth, and is proud of the diversity of backgrounds and cultures of members, united by a common purpose and aspirations.

Our Objectives
-
Education & Academic growth
To promote education in Samburu County. This would entail spearheading educational campaigns in all secondary schools in the County and the community at large.

Giving Back to the Community
Address the problems affecting the Samburu community and try to come up with solutions to these problems which include; Tribalism, clanism, illiteracy, gender biasness, girl-child challenges, entrepreneurship, capacity building inter alia.

Representation
To address the necessary needs of Samburu university students especially on issues concerning allocation of bursaries available in the County, Susa bursary and any other bursary. It will also endeavor to assist any member in accordance with in need in accordance with these objectives

Transparency & Accountability
Encourage transparency and accountability among all leaders by criticizing them without fear, favour or prejudice.

Social And Financial Activities
To organize social and financial activities that is of the best interests of the association and run business activities to generate income to support the achievement of the association objectives.

Advocacy
To advocate for ostracizing of the outdated cultures such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), beading, early marriages inter alia among the Samburu community.

Economic life Standards
To encourage the Samburu community to diversify their economic way of livelihood for them to be at par with other communities in Kenya.

Diplomacy
To work with individuals, other national and/or international groups and/or organizations with similar interests in the County.

The leadership of Samburu University Students Association (SUSA) proudly participated in the recently concluded Leadership Training Summit held at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), Kasarani.
This impactful summit was organized by ACSAP-Kenya under the esteemed patronage of Ms. Charlene Ruto. The event brought together student leaders from various universities across Kenya to empower, inspire, and enhance their leadership capabilities. The summit provided a valuable platform for networking, sharing ideas, and building strong leadership skills that will positively influence our association and the wider student community in Samburu and beyond. SUSA remains committed to continuous leadership development and will actively implement lessons learned from the summit to better serve our students.

It can lead to increased self-esteem and self-confidence, better stress management, and improved physical health. It can also help you feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions, which can lead to more positive experiences and a greater sense of overall happiness and fulfillment.

Training aims to break the silence and build awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene management. Transformative campaigns on this day focus on creating a #PeriodFriendlyWorld, where menstruation is understood, accepted, and supported by all. These campaigns involve various initiatives, including providing access to menstrual products and hygiene facilities, educating about menstruation, and advocating for policy changes to support menstrual health.

Menstrual Hygiene Transformative Training
A time to spotlight the importance of menstrual health, which must be recognized as the complete physical, mental, and social well-being of women and girls in relation to the menstrual cycle. Menstrual hygiene is the ability of women and adolescent girls to manage their menstruation in a hygienic manner, with dignity, using clean menstrual absorbents, and having access to facilities for changing in privacy, as well as for washing their bodies and hands.
